Historic facts
The house was built over remains of previous homes in earlier centuries. In the mid19th century it was the fist and only hospice within the old city, founded by a British mission. This inspired the Jewish community to establish Rothschild hospital in 1845 and later in 1857 Bikur Holim s hospital next door to the property, as they did not like the fact that crosses were placed over the Jewish ill persons beds.
The size of the house is 240 sq m. However, this includes walls width. Some of the walls are very wide (1 m ). In reality there it are about net 180 sqm.
The house contains the following spaces:
A comfortable size living-room with a working fire place, a formal dining room connected to it. A patio with a glassed roof mechanically opened and closed. Eat in kitchen. A den. Two connected by door bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a laundry room, an entrance hall, a storage room, a room on the roof, an uncovered/blocked room and three roofs with the best view of the old city. The bedrooms, living room and dining rooms are high arched ceilings.
It is a split level house stretched on 6 levels.
The entrée to the house is on 3rd level.
Kitchen is on the 2nd level.
Living-room, dining room, patio, den and a bathroom on 1st level.
Master bathroom and laundry room on 4th level.
Two connected by door bed rooms on 5th level.
Storage room, unfinished built room on lower roof on 6th level.
Two roofs on higher level are 7th level.
Neighbors
This is a dead end bordering street with the Armenian quarter. Residents are of mixed cultures. The house is connected on one of its facets with a Jewish neighbor and the other facet with Assyrian Church rented property.
At the end of the street housed the Israeli Youth Hostel (Historically housing the Bikur Holim hospital). The hostel operates on restricted hours. It closes its doors by 11:00 pm and reopens at 7:00 am. This eliminates from night passers noise.
Parking lot
All residents of the J.Q are eligible to park in the Jewish quarter parking for an annual fee. There are no designated parking spaces.
Public transportation
Transit by minibus is on regular basis including taxi service.
Proximity to Jaffa gate and to Western Wall
The location of the house makes the west city accessible by foot-walking via the main market street. The house is located 5-10 minutes walk from The Western Wall.
Heating system
The house is heated by electric system. No air-condition is needed in the summer as the house contains a cool air due to the width of its walls.
Shopping
Within the JQ there are a number of grocery shops and supermarkets.
In addition the old city markets are just by the house.
Mix of residents
Majority of residents of Jewish quarter are traditional to orthodox Jews.
Education, Culture and synagogues
Education from secular to ultra orthodox is practiced. An active cultural center offers performances and activities. A large number of active Synagogues accommodate all segments of Jewish pop.
General comment
The house has a great potential for alterations to meet the need and taste of a buyer. One room may be unblocked as it was left blocked during the 1977 reconstruction and renovation of the property. The room on the roof is not finished. There is a potential to reinstall a roof garden.

The roofs of the house are the highest level of the Jewish quarter. From it one can see a breath taking 180 degrees sceneries including symbols of all faiths..
